Timing Tell Strategy
Start off Simple
When first adding timing tells to your game, it is important to realize that there is not a timing tell for every action. We recommend that you pick a few common spots to look for (see our common timing tell trends below) and combine those with the HUD popup’s average timing statistics.
Using the Average Timing Statistics
Average timings of opponents actions are a very powerful tool. For example, if an opponent takes 9 seconds to 3bet you and you know his average 3bet timing is 5 seconds, you can be confident that he took a longer than usual time to make his decision. Based on our studies below, this would be a good filter to apply when deciding to 4bet bluff or not.
However, if your opponent’s average 3bet timing was 9 seconds, you can be confident knowing that this is a normal timing for this player, and timing should not be considered while making your decision.
